Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:

8 ounces elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, until well combined and slightly golden.
Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Remove the saucepan from heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheeses have melted and the sauce is smooth.
Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir well to incorporate the seasonings.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until the pasta is evenly coated.
Transfer the mac and cheese mixture to the greased baking dish. Sprinkle some extra shredded cheddar cheese on top, if desired.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
