The Best Homemade Egg Rolls

 Ingredients:

1 package egg roll wrappers
1 pound ground pork or chicken
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup chopped green onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Add the ground pork or chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the garlic, cabbage, carrots, and green onions until the vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper.

Return the cooked meat to the skillet and stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil.

Cook for a few minutes to combine the flavors. Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.

Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the wrapper, slightly below the center.

Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides.

Roll the wrapper tightly towards the top corner, sealing the edges with a little water.

In a deep pot or large skillet, heat vegetable oil for frying to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy.

Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve the homemade egg rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.

Enjoy the satisfaction of biting into crispy and flavorful homemade egg rolls.

These delightful appetizers feature a savory filling of ground pork or chicken, combined with shredded cabbage, carrots, and aromatic spices.
